Technology
Summary
Technology is a term referring to whatever can be said at any particular historical period, concerning the state of the art in the whole general field of practical know-how and tool use. It therefore encompasses all that can be said about arts, crafts, professions, applied sciences, and skills. By extension it can also refer to any systems or methods of organization which enable such technologies, any field of study which concerns them, or any products which result. The etymology of the word technology still reflects the modern meaning, coming from the Greek technologa (τεχνολογία) — tchnē (τέχνη), an 'art', 'skill' or 'craft' and -loga (-λογία), the study of something, or the branch of knowledge of a discipline.
