World News Now (WNN) is ABC's overnight news program. Its tone is often lighthearted, irreverent and humorous. A number of well-known news personalities including Thalia Assuras, Aaron Brown, Kevin Newman, Alison Stewart, Liz Cho, and Anderson Cooper anchored WNN early in their careers.The show is produced and airs in three half-hour segments Monday through Friday morning beginning at 1:30 a.m. ET. Most ABC stations preempt portions of WNN due to local programming. America This Morning airs live to the network at 4:00 a.m. ET (which is anchored and produced by the same team).WNN is divided into an A, B, C, and D-block.

When stories started popping up about me coming out on television, one of my sisters was quick to state the obvious and bring me back to reality.
While anchoring “ABC World News Now” at 3 a. m. Monday, Dan Kloeffler made his first on-air mention that he is gay. Kloeffler was discussing how actor Zachary Quinto had recently revealed that he was gay, a headline that prompted Kloeffler to say he would drop his rule against dating actors.
The coming out of "Star Trek" hunk Zachary Quinto has already inspired an ABC news anchor to publicly follow suit.
Nair, who has co-hosted the somewhat unusual news show since 2008, has been praised for her light-hearted on-air personality.
