Reporters Without Borders

Reporters Without Borders, or RWB (French: Reporters sans frontires, Spanish: Reporteros Sin Fronteras, Chinese: 无国界记者, Persian: گزارشگران بدون مرز, Arabic: مراسلون بلا حدود Murāsilūn bi-lā Ḥudūd) is a Parisian-based international non-governmental organization that advocates freedom of the press. It was founded in 1985 by Robert Mnard, Rony Brauman and the journalist Jean-Claude Guillebaud. Jean-Franois Julliard has served as Secretary General since 2008. English speakers often refer to the organization by its French name, Reporters sans frontires, and initials, RSF.RWB was founded in Montpellier, France in 1985. At first, the association was aimed at promoting alternative journalism, but before the failure of their project, the three founders stumbled on disagreements between themselves.
