Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO is a UK-based advertising agency which has produced several well-known television commercials, including: Peter Mead and Adrian Vickers had founded Mead Davies & Vickers. David Abbott, previously of DDB Worldwide, joined them in 1979 to form Abbott Mead Vickers. Long established as the UK's biggest advertising agency, AMV became the local outpost for the US network BBDO in 1991, via a minority stake. BBDO acquired the remaining shares in 1998, and it was renamed Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO. The current Chairman is Cilla Snowball and the CEO is Farah Ramzan Golant. Along with contract publishing agencies Redwood and Cedar, direct marketing agencies Craik Jones (now merged into Proximity) and Proximity, production studio The Hub Plus and PR agency Fishburn Hedges (plus a few smaller units), AMV BBDO forms part of AMV Group, whose Chairman and CEO is Cilla Snowball.
