Arts & Entertainment Television Networks (also known as A&E Television Networks or simply AETN) is a U.S. media company that owns a group of television channels available via cable & satellite in the US and abroad. The company is a joint venture between Hearst Corporation, Disney-ABC Television Group, and NBC Universal. AETN networks include A&E Network, The Biography Channel, Crime & Investigation Network, History, History en Español, History International, Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, Lifetime Real Women, and Military History Channel. On August 27, 2009, A&E Television Networks acquired Lifetime Entertainment Services. AETN International is the international division of AETN, which handles international operations outside the U.S., mostly through joint ventures. A&E is an associate member of the Caribbean Cable & Telecommunications Association and the Caribbean Cable Cooperative. AETN UK is a joint venture of A&E Television Networks and the United Kingdom's largest subscription television provider British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) through the Sky Ventures division.
