New hires, events and opportunities: TheMediaBriefing's growth continues

TheMediaBriefing.com is expanding, fast. Jasper Jackson has joined our growing team as a journalist covering the media industry and will be working on the site from today.

A bit about Jasper:

He's a born and bred Londoner with an undergraduate degree in Social Policy and Politics from Edinburgh University, and an MA in Investigative Journalism from City University.

He has spent almost three years writing about technology and digital media, most recently at industry magazine Mobile News covering the UK mobile market from operators through software developers to device distributors. At Mobile News he developed expertise in niche areas including spectrum, MVNOs and device recycling, and also ran the publication’s unified communications section.

Prior to Mobile News he worked at StrategyEye Digital Media, covering a broad swathe of technology and media, from online advertising to video streaming, with a particular focus on young startups and market analysis. He is also a blogger and photographer covering protest and protest movements in London. Jasper is especially interested in the way in which advances in communications technology and new forms of media are affecting political theory and action in unpredictable ways.

You can follow him at @JaspJackson.

And that's not all: We have a vacancy for an account manager to sell sponsorship & exhibition spaces across our conferences, awards and training portfolio...

And we're looking for for talented marketing people to work across TheMediaBriefing and our sister titles Pulse and Farmers Guardian. Plus, as ever, we want to hear from anyone with an idea who wants to write for the site.

There's much more to come from us in the next six months, with Mobile Media Strategies 2012 fast approaching, a half-day event on video monetisation in October, more training sessions on multi platform sales, a bigger, better and slightly different Paywall Strategies conference for 2013 and the return of the British Media Awards.
